OPUH3 January 5, 2012 Hash Location: Pack meets at 5:45 PM, Hare chosen and pack off shortly thereafter. This month the pack will be meet at the Kamamalu Community Park located at 1440 Queen Emma St., Honolulu 96813 (Map Link). Park on Queen Emma St. and look for hashers near the fence.
The Oʻahu Pick Up Hash meets on the first Thursday of each month at a location chosen by whomever is the last hare of the previous months hash. It is an A to A, 45-60 minute, no cost, BYO everything hash. It does get dark so BRING A FLASHLIGHT and some warm clothing to change into!
The hare is chosen by Jun Ken Po, a rock, paper, scissors game of random chance. He or she who loses the final round becomes the hare. The hare has approximately a 10 minutes start, using basic hash trail marks. Whomever catches the hare (and that sometimes is not the case), becomes the new hare and has approximately a 3-5 minute start with the pack regrouping during that time frame. If you are worried about being a hare, this is your very best lifetime opportunity to do so. You just run and mark wherever and whatever your comfort zone. And when you are tired or lost, just wait until you get caught and pass the haring to whomever catches you.
